Family History

My name is Tony Sievwright and I am a 3rd generation removalist.

My grandfather was a carrier & my father was a removalist & it was pretty obvious that I was destined to become a removalist.

When my grandfather started back in the 30s, he was delivering ice blocks & firewood by horse & cart.

In the old days, it must have been a hard job with heavy lifting and at times backbreaking work, not to mention how slow it must have been by horse and cart, it is almost impossible to imagine life in those days.

These days we have it easy by comparison, with our modern trucks and handling equipment, moving house or office is nowhere near as difficult.

My three sons have now joined the family business and represent the 4th generation of Sievwright family removalists.

Ben, Michael & Josh are their names and they have brought a whole new approach to our business by creating our Moversonline division.

They have made changes that literally make my head spin, but I have to admit it is a great new way to do business.

I imagine it must have been similar to when they first went from horse & cart to trucks. It is just so simple.

I would never have imagined that you could combine moving furniture and the internet, but you can & it works great.

I give all credit to my sons for their vision, their hard work, their drive and their computer skills.

It was a gamble changing our 80 year old company name, we argued long and hard around the kitchen table, but happily it has paid off.

Our growth over the past 3 years has been phenomenal, so much so that we had to move from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.

Living and working in Brisbane is fantastic, the traffic takes a little getting used to, but there is so much moving work, the place is just so vibrant.

We have opened a new Head office in Virginia so we can service our clients throughout the greater Brisbane area.

We are no longer known as Sievwright removals, but the Sievwright family history and Sievwright family involvement is greater than ever.

I have great faith in my sons to grow this company, they have a terrific work ethic, they are very ambitious, they live & breathe the moving industry and they are totally customer focused.

I was a bit sad to see the old company name go, but very pleased to see the boys and their new online version doing so well.

At the end of the day we are still an old fashioned family moving company who have adapted to the new and exciting internet age.

We are still as passionate as ever when it comes to value for money, great service and customer satisfaction & hopefully these changes will make us an even better company Moving forward.
